SENIORS, HOSPITALS AND THERAPEUTIC SETTINGS

MISSION STATEMENT: To connect people more fully to their lives and their own humanity through music.

For more than fifteen years I have brought music to thousands of adults and children in various therapeutic settings: nursing homes, mental health facilities, children’s hospitals, cancer support centers and assisted living residences. I am particularly passionate about performing in settings that cater to seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia. With guitar and piano I engage my audiences with whatever genre might be called for - standards, pop, folk, Motown, rock and roll, soul, as well as songs in diverse languages. As an entertainer I am dedicated to providing a truly stimulating and moving musical experience.

I am available for individual strolling programs, small groups, day rooms and larger shows. I also work with private clients.

TESTIMONIES:

"What Garry is able to do is rare indeed. He has a unique talent for bringing joy to seniors and truly connecting with them through music. Garry really gets to know the residents, learns their names, remembers their favorite songs and creates a very positive and meaningful experience for them. He is effective with high-functioning seniors but also has a special talent for residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s. I have personally asked him to visit my own elderly family members.  As a board certified music therapist, I have extremely high standards and Garry is the only musician/entertainer that I trust will do the high quality of work that I expect."

"I was sold on Garry immediately. He came in, introduced himself to all of my residents as well as greeted each person individually so he could learn their names right away. I knew right then that Garry was going to be one of my consistent entertainers. Since that day he has been with on a monthly basis. He has a unique talent for bringing joy to seniors through music. He speaks and sings in many different languages, so he can relate music to everyone and he always keeps it fresh. Garry has that special gift and talent that is effective when working with the memory impaired."

“Garry Novikoff has the warmth, repertoire and skills to create a wonderful concert for elders, family members and our entire community.  His engaging voice, which he accompanies on either guitar and piano, is one key piece of it.  But even more important is the way in which he connects with and draws out his audience to feel the music and to join in.  We always look forward to his performances.”

"Whether you want a classic song or a current pop melody, some old time swing on the piano or guitar rock and roll, Garry Novikoff has not only the musical talent but also the magic personality to make it happen. In a world of so many great talents it can be hard to find all the help you need rolled into one person. Garry not only comes through musically, but he is also a professional on every level, and he brings an extraordinary enthusiasm."
